Somatic Therapy
A stressful or traumatic event that doesn't fully resolve leaves a charge in the nervous system, held as tension, fatigue or pain long after the story is forgotten. Working directly with the vagus nerve lets the body finally complete what it never got to finish.
Structural Bodywork
An injury that isn't fully resolved rarely stays where it started. The body compensates around it, pulling other muscles and joints out of alignment long after the injury itself has healed. Working directly with that whole tensional pattern lets the body move the way it was built to again.

My path to this work wasn't a straight line. I studied social psychology at U.C. Berkeley and organisational dynamics through Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania, which taught me to see how systems hold patterns, resist change, and have the potential to reorganise into something more alive. Before clinical practice I worked across military special operations, eco-village management, documentary filmmaking, and complex systems analysis.
Each of those worlds showed me something about how human beings carry tension and how to return to our our innate state of balance. That thread runs through everything I do in the treatment room.
I trained in Classical Chinese Medicine, Dry Needling, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, and Somatic Therapy. I'm also the Australian Coordinator for Psycho-Neuro Energetics, a modality that works directly with the vagus nerve to help the autonomic nervous system release what it's been holding.
I regularly practice the internal arts, including qi gong and taiji, and integrate this into sessions. I'm an avid beach volleyball player, and I enjoy cooking food for friends without following recipes. I live with my wife in Maroubra Beach.
